I’ve always loved coconut oil and I love finding new uses for it! It seems like you can use coconut oil for just about anything! I was reading online and I saw a bunch of people raving about the improvements they have seen in their body since eating coconut oil. One of those many improvements was that they looked better physically. It was as if their waistlines were getting smaller, but they weren’t losing any weight. The number of people claiming that it truly works made me a bit less skeptical, so I decided to give it a try.
WHY COCONUT OIL HELPS YOU GET A SLIMMER WAISTLINE
Of course, do the research for yourself before trying it out, but this is why it should work.
- Coconut oil is very high in fat, but it is high in good fat (MCTs). This fat is not stored in the body as other fat is, but it is sent straight to the liver to be used for energy. (specifically more energy to get workouts done. 😉 )
- It boosts the metabolism which makes you burn more calories at rest.
- Coconut oil makes you feel more full throughout the day which reduces your appetite. It makes you not WANT to eat as much!!
When tracking calories, it is important to remember to keep track of the calories from the Coconut oil. Do not just add this on top of your daily intake. Coconut oil makes you able to burn more calories at rest, but if you are taking in more than you are burning you won’t lose weight.
*A study was done with 20 people, 13 women and 7 men, on the effects of adding a little over 2 TBSP (30 mL) a day for 4 weeks into their diet. As a result, these men and women had a mean reduction in waist circumference of 1.1 inches. Their daily food intake and physical activity remained the same during this trial. Although their overall weight did not have significant changes, their body was slimmer and healthier.
The amount of coconut oil you decide on is up to you, I’ve heard of people taking anywhere from 1-6 tablespoons and they all see results. I recommend mixing liquid coconut oil in with vanilla yogurt and topping with fruit. (Maybe it’s just me but swallowing a spoonful of oil is not as delicious as it seems.)
Coconut oil is solid at room temperature so in order to melt it, run the container under hot water. Don’t microwave it- the microwave kills its nutrients.
Only use virgin, unrefined coconut oil! Click here for a great deal on the brand I use!
Thank you so much for reading!! Let me know if it works for you!
